Iranian series ‘Salman the Persian’ resumes shooting

Iranian mega-project ‘Salman the Persian’ resumes shooting.

Directed by Davoud Mir-Baqeri, the Iranian series ‘Salman the Persian’ has resumed shooting.

The series’ shooting phase had been paused due to the pandemic COVID-19.

To continue filming, the crew had to replace some of the abroad locations with similar ones in Iran.

The 40-episode biopic covers the life of one of Prophet Mohammad’s [PBUH] closest companions, Salman the Persian, from adolescence until the prophet’s death and Salman’s return to his home city of Mada’in.

Alireza Shoja-Nouri, Farhad Aslani, Ali Dehkordi, and Mohammad-Reza Hedayati are on the cast list with more than 1500 Iranian and international actors.

The filming is now taking place while observing the health protocols issued by the government to contain COVID-19.

The crew members are currently planning to shoot the episodes that depict entering of Salman’s caravan to Byzantine Empire territory.
